Query Critique and Editorial Services

Whether you're preparing to query agents for the first time or refining a submission that isn't getting the responses you hoped for, I’m here to help you present your strongest, most compelling work. My services are designed to give you clear, actionable feedback that elevates your materials and boosts your confidence as you move toward publication.

Disclaimers:

  • I have a No-A.I. guarantee. I will not use A.I. to edit any of your materials, and I will not run them through any A.I. agent. Your work is safe with me.

  • I only accept materials for fiction manuscripts. I do not specialize in nonfiction submissions.

  • I only accept work as my bandwidth allows. I reserve the right to decline content that I do not personally align with.

  • I cannot guarantee any specific results. Meaning, I cannot guarantee you’ll receive agent representation following the query critique. There are too many uncertain factors in querying to make such promises. If an editor ever promises you representation — run away!

Query Letter Critique ($75 USD)

Your query letter is your first impression with agents. Let’s make it pack a punch.

What’s included:

  • In-depth review of your query letter

  • Comments on structure, clarity, hook, voice, comparative titles, bio, and more

  • Notes on market positioning and pitch strength

  • One round of revision after you apply the initial feedback

Who this is for:

Writers who want a tight, polished query that gets agents to read more.

Query Package Critique ($175 USD)

You save $50 by bundling the services!

The all-in-one submission review: query letter, synopsis, and first ten pages.

What’s included:

  • Full critique of your query letter

  • Line and developmental feedback on your synopsis

  • Margin comments + editorial suggestions on your first 10 pages

  • One follow-up round of questions/review on revisions

Who this is for:

Writers prepping a complete, ready-to-send submission with consistent quality across all pieces.

Synopsis Edit ($50 USD)

A Synopsis needs to be kept to one page. That’s a lot of plot to fit into a few paragraphs! I can help you stick to the necessary beats and cut out the fluff.

What’s included:

  • Structural review (clarity, pacing, stakes)

  • Formatting review

  • Line-level edits to tighten language

  • Guidance on focusing the core arc and character development

  • One revision check

First Ten Pages Edit ($100 USD)

Many agents request the first ten pages of your manuscript as part of your query submission. These pages can really make or break a full request. They need to be sharp enough to hook the agent.

What’s included:

  • In-line editing for clarity, flow, and voice

  • Notes on pacing, worldbuilding, character introduction, and tension

  • Suggestions to improve readability and agent appeal

  • Formatting feedback

  • One follow-up review of your revised pages

While I am committed to helping you strengthen your query materials and present your work in the best possible light, these services cannot guarantee literary agent requests, representation, publication, or any specific outcome. All editorial feedback is subjective by nature, and results may vary based on individual agents' preferences and market conditions.
